What’s included in our impact window installation service

Our standard installation handles the full job — not just placing the window in the opening. The labor, materials, and finish work below are included in every install we quote.

  • Removal and disposal of your existing windows
  • New wood bucking for solid, code-compliant mounting
  • Impact-rated window installation per manufacturer specs
  • Drywall touch-ups around interior frames
  • Stucco repairs and exterior trim work
  • Permit pulling and inspection coordination
What’s not included: Paint touch-ups on repaired interior or exterior surfaces. We leave a clean edge ready for your painter, but we don’t paint ourselves to keep your warranty and color-match in your hands.

Our process, step by step

Most South Florida impact window installations follow the same path. Here’s what to expect from the first call to the final inspection.

1

Free in-home consultation

One of our consultants comes to your home, measures each opening, walks you through product options from PGT, ES, and CGI, and explains how the project will affect your insurance, energy bills, and home value.

2

Custom quote and product selection

You get an itemized quote within 48 hours. We help you compare window lines, glass options (Low-E, tinted, obscured), and frame colors. Financing through Wells Fargo Home Projects is available if you want to spread the cost.

3

Permits, HOA, and scheduling

We handle the city permit application and coordinate with your HOA if needed. Once approved and your windows arrive (typically 4–8 weeks from order), we schedule installation around your calendar.

4

Installation

Our installation crew protects your floors and furniture, removes the old windows, installs the new impact units, and completes drywall and stucco repairs. A typical whole-home install takes 2–4 days depending on window count.

5

Final inspection and wind mitigation paperwork

We coordinate the city inspection and provide you with the OIR-1802 wind mitigation form your insurance company needs to apply the impact-window discount to your policy. We follow up at 30 days to make sure everything is performing as expected.

Frequently asked questions

How long does impact window installation take?
A whole-home install of 10–20 windows typically takes 2–4 days, depending on home access and the type of windows. Smaller projects (single rooms or a handful of windows) often complete in a single day.
Do I need a permit to install impact windows?
Yes — all Florida counties require a permit for impact window replacement. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and handle the paperwork as part of every install.
Will impact windows lower my home insurance?
Most Florida insurers offer wind mitigation credits of 10–45% off the wind portion of your homeowner’s premium when you install impact-rated windows throughout the home. We provide the OIR-1802 form your insurance company needs.
How much does impact window installation cost?
Project cost depends on home size, window count, frame material (vinyl vs aluminum), glass options, and product line. A typical South Florida single-family home runs $15,000–$45,000 for full impact-window replacement. See our detailed Florida cost guide or request a free in-home estimate for an exact quote.
Do you offer financing for impact window installation?
Yes. We partner with Wells Fargo’s Home Projects Credit Card. Low monthly payments, fast approval, and competitive rates designed for home improvement projects. See financing options.
How long do impact windows last?
Properly installed impact windows from PGT, ES, or CGI typically last 25–40 years before needing replacement. The aluminum frames last longer than vinyl in coastal salt-air environments, while vinyl offers better thermal performance inland.
